To make a new friend, regardless of race, language or religion

It has been an interesting day. I made a new friend on the way to meeting someone. He was African. Ghanaian in fact, but this man I met was a fantastic man. He seemed helpless at the MRT station, trying to buy a ticket to get to the airport. I somehow found the need to help this man, though many eyes would indefinitely stare in disbelief for even associating myself to this man. Dark and creepy on the outside, it seemed he was very soft yet religious in his being. Got to know that he was a tourist taking a break from work for a month, leaving his family behind to view what the world has to offer. The more questions I asked, the more he felt at ease with me. An extremely friendly personality in a well built body of strength and character. It was a real issue for me, when he mentioned of the criticism and discrimination he has faced from fellow Singaporeans. Why when he pointed out, with a slash of the wrist of any human being on Earth, all and everyone of us would bleed a blood that is crimson red. A true human being full of just and fun-loving nature, he re-created thoughts and beliefs people have seemed to form on me for the past 20 years. It has been an exciting journey. Getting to know this man was an unbelievable experience. I wish him all the best of luck. His name is James. He has changed my life..

Life

Life has just taken a 360 turn for me today when I realised so many others are less fortunate then me.. I realised the life I have been living was a selfish and thoughtless one. For 20 years, I thought I had been in an unfortunate state with my background, when I realised there were many more that had so little in life. I seemed to have redefined... my dreams.

Me and Grace helped a blind man to his way to the bus stop and waited till his bus came. I didn't know why but something came over me to just help him. He was struggling to make his way to the bus stop. That was the least I could do I guess. Many looked, but few expressed interest to even help. Sigh. I wonder what the world has become.

Must we be judged by how successful we are in academia? Must we be liked and welcomed only if we are of the same colour? Must we allow the people around us to depict what we should do? Questions just pop up in my head when I look at the people around me. It is scary the world I live in. When I see the strong bullying the weak, the heartless controlling the sincere. It is happening all around the world and most importantly it is happening all around me.

Reaching into my subconcious, I have let faith chart my course. My dreams will come true, for there will be a time when I am ready, success will come my way. I love the life I'm living, because if you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room on this planet.

Love life, Live it!

EBAY Rocks!

I recently discovered the magic of online shopping yesterday.. and it was damn fun! Bidding and buying stuff had more of the excitement than getting stuff from the shopping centre. There was more to choose from that wasn't available from the shops as well. I recently got a T-shirt for only $4.97!! I also bought a book I've been looking for months for $35.00. Just missed out on a Levi's 501 jeans by a mere $0.50 cents. The winner wasn't about to get lose the bid I guess. I thk it will be a dream come true for women to shop from the internet for the rest of their lives. It makes all the work so much easier for the guys. ;) THANK YOU SO MUCH EBAY!

Did you know?
The first item ever sold on eBay was Omidyar's (the founder of EBay) broken laser pointer for $13.83. Astonished, he contacted the winning bidder and asked if he understood that the laser pointer was broken. In his responding email, the buyer explained: "I'm a collector of broken laser pointers."

Strange!! Till next time.. Peace out!

L.E.A.D

I had a great meeting with the committee for the class representative camp. The bunch of them were exceptional. I could see it in their eyes that they had the drive to create. The drive to lead. My last chance to lead a young bunch of students for an event. I had to make the best out of it, not for myself but for the future of engineering students and its student leaders. It was great to see that they were all very receptive to my beliefs and ideas. I really want them to understand how leading can be something much more rewarding when self is sacrificed for others. I really want them to succeed. I really want to them to fly.

Leading is an exceptional ability I believe everyone should learn in the course of their lifetime. It can be one of the most rewarding yet challenging skills anyone can learn. I honestly see myself as a leader and I am proud of it. To see followers truely understand the vision and goals that you set, you give them belief that they are in safe hands. To eventually have your followers emulate your thoughts and ideas; absolutely priceless.

I saw my life change in the past few months in thought, words and action. Mistakes have culminated in unfortunate incidents in the past and I vowed to not repeat the same mistakes. I truely understand how integrity is such an integral to a person's character and reputation.

Integrity can be defined easily: It is the act of what you think, becoming what you say, manifesting into what you do. Something I will practise till the day I die.

I am dedicated to helping team L.E.A.D to success. I know they will because I visualise with the end in mind. L.E.A.D camp will be success. With my thoughts, the universe will align itself to allow the manifestation of my desires. It will be a success. Nothing less. It will be a success..

Peace out people! Create the life you've always wanted! Believe..

Another episode of "Did you know?"

An exhilarating day with the highlight being the motivational talk that I was given a chance to give in the afternoon. I liked the session because it was with a smaller crowd and I could raise the intensity of my message across to these people who were interested in what I had to say to them. I raised it a bar higher. I enjoyed myself. They enjoyed themselves. The result was fantastic. The people went home inspired. I could throw it up a notch.. but not yet.. I'm not ready yet.. There is still so much more for me to learn..

Got 4 new business partners in the making. I have the faith that these people are confident of reaching success. I am ready to take on the challenge of leading them. It will be a matter of time I have to. They are ready to take on the route of success. Are you?

Many people in life are never fully satisfied with their lives simply because they do not push their limits beyond what they can imagine. Their comfort zone is completely limited to what they feel is logical. The human mind is much more capable than many think it can do; when harnessed, it can build great fortunes when used in the right manner.

Did you know?
1 percent of the population in the world own 99 percent of the world's wealth? Which percentage are you willing to be categorised under?

Think about it..
Till the next "Did you know?", Peace out!!

The "Extended" Family and the "Annoying" one!

Morning till 5.30pm
Sometimes I wish I did more for my $70. I'm still waiting for my committee to be confirmed before we all get started to get the Class rep camp happening for Engineering school. In the mean time, the occasional youtube.com will keep me awake for most of the day.

6.30pm
I've been longing to see the dragonboat guys, only to see that the family has grown by twofold over the past week. It seems like the dragonboat team has begun its inauguration of the newly chosen freshies to our dragonboat family. Met up with Joshua, Kang Wei, Yonggie and Baba to witness the inauguration ceremony with the dreaded "fitness" test. (I don't really understand why its called a fitness test when as dragonboaters, we're ald fitter than 2/3 the student population. Hak Loon knows that we're fit. The thing is whether we are fit enough! Damn Hak Loon.. OoopS!) Kang wei and yonggie started to go on depicting characters from Bleach. Baba had to spoil it all saying he prefers "Dettol". WTF! Baba just shut up will you! HAHA! i'll start calling him the "Annoying" one from now on. I'll bet he'll like the name :)

8.05pm
Time for the guys to run their 2.4km. Baba kept on making fun of the guys for having to run the 2.4k cause his time is ald over. 2.4k is ald over so he says. At least I beat his ass to 2.4k. Damn I'll reach 30 pull ups soon.. Just you wait Baba!

Some of them ran like they got chased down by a rhino I tell you. Some pretended to drop dead when they finished (standard operating procedure!), others panted as if they didn't breathe for a century. These bastards were fast I tell you! slowest was 11:20 minutes. I remember Baba got the slowest during our time. Oh the memories! Haha.. Kang wei ran a milestone, 9:10 minutes(Kowtow to the almighty one!).

10:30pm
Had a good talk to Sherman and Xianglin on the way to the bus stop and back home. Both have their dreams and passions to pursue in life though both may be going in different directions. Mentioned how tough it was going to be in the coming few years to them, for them to get ready for a traumatising experience to come up ahead. The world is going to turn on Singapore soon, but few realise the need for us to be prepared, emotionally, socially and psychologically.

Today, I felt alive again. I was grateful for the things and friends, though ridiculous and obnoxious like Dion aka Baba, I have making me human as can be. The law of nature reveals its sweetness and happiness towards you when you see life in a positive perspective. This is how I choose to live my life and how I would preach others to do.

Quote of the day
Appreciate the finer things in life. Never regret a single moment. Cherish it!
